- My family member recently enlisted in the army and he is now serving his first tour in Afghanistan. This young man had the opportunity to attend a good college and he chose the military. We were all baffled and shocked that he would choose this path.

- So...I will get a ticket for not wearing my seat belt in my car....but no seat belts are required on buses. I have to wear a seat belt on an airplane but lap children (at least they used to allow this) don't have to wear seat belts but just sit on a parent's lap.

- I recall hearing another story like this in which an elderly couple drowned while trying to save their dog from a lake. Like this story, the dog survived. How tragic. I hope they find the boy safe somehow miraculously.

- Good lord. So...some stupid schmuck decided to steal and the walmart guards end up taking out all their frustrations and anger on him till they killed him. At least that's what it sounds like. Few people associated with walmart...whether shoppers or employees... are civilized.

- I grew up in Texas and left for a job opportunity on the west coast. I loved, loved, loved the people in Texas. I rarely met an unfriendly Texan. Had the best parents in the world. The most wonderful teachers, neighbors, and friends. Lovely small towns. I had a good life there.
